Alpaca’s have arrived

On January 20th, four Alpaca’s joined the Mt. Everett barn. “Tori, Mia, Amanda & Mildred.”

They were adopted from the NY Wildlife Rescue Center and Northeast Llama Rescue in Middleburgh NY. They came from a large Alpaca farm and were well taken care of by their previous owner. They are older girls (13,13, 16 & 19) but have plenty of years left in them. (Alpaca’s can live to be 25.) We hope that they enjoy their retirement home and enjoy being educational animals. We look forward to having them be part of the annual Ag Fair and learning how to spin/work with their fiber. They are still adjusting to their new home but don’t seem to mind the curious goats and sheep in the stalls next door.

A big thank you to Mia Bills and her family for the use of their trailer for the day
